A Texas Hill Country Native, I started Crossfit in 2018 after my wife had begged me to drop-in to our local box.  I had every excuse in the book and with my busy schedule as an engineering consultant it seemed impossible.  I ended up dropping in at a gym near my home in San Antonio, TX.  How hard could it be?  Being a lifelong athlete and part-time coach, I thought I’d be able to hang with this crew easily – they were young, old, big, small, ripped, not-so-ripped, and they were constantly giving each other high fives and smiling (it was unlike anything I had experienced as an athlete).  To put it mildly, I got my #@$ handed to me that first day by this happy bunch of fun-loving high fivers and well, I have been hooked ever since.  Because of my traveling schedule I was able to drop-in at over 80 different CrossFit locations around the country before getting my L1 CrossFit certification and was able to gain experience from owners and coaches of all different backgrounds.  I am an Environmental Scientist by trade, General Contractor serving the Hill Country, and lifelong coach with a firm belief that this community has so much more to offer than just physical fitness.  This methodology has changed my life – it’s made me a better father to my daughters, a better husband to my wife, and has become a keystone in my lifelong pursuit of BETTER. “If I have seen further, it has been on the shoulders of giants.”
